THE SOUTH AFRICAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION (SALGA) NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE APPOINTS LANCE JOEL AS ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The South African Local Government Association (SALGA) National Executive Committee has appointed Chief of Operations Lance Joel as the Acting Chief Executive Officer with effect from 01 August 2022.
The appointment follows a vacancy created by the departure of Xolile George who has joined the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa as its Secretary.
The NEC is confident that Lance Joel will be able to maintain continuity and steer the ship forward in the acting capacity as someone who has been serving the organisation at the executive level for a significant period.
An admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, Joel has over 22 years working experience, 17 of which have been at executive management level and in local government.
Joel will occupy the acting CEO position until 31 October 2022.
