South African Local Government Association (SALGA) – Tshwane University of Technology: Virtual Seminar | Arts, Culture and Heritage for Sustainable Local Development
Arts, Culture and Heritage (ACH) are domains whose developmental potential have not been fully explored and unleashed, especially in the Urban and Rural Planning in the Local Government space. This potential is relevant to responding to the demand of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) for creative innovation, social resilience of communities to COVID-19 and the Indigenous Knowledge System (IKS) to ecological challenges imposed by the climate change.
The following experts, alongside others, will offer their perspectives on different aspects of the arts, culture and heritage sector in the context of socio-economic development. Facilitators: Favourite Khanye, Specialist: Community Development, South African Local Government Association (SALGA) and Gugulethu Nyoni, Developmental Economics Post Graduate Student & Entrepreneur. The seminar will be split into the following three sessions: (NB Seminar registrations start from 09:00 am to 10:00 am) Official programme starts at 10:00 am.
