SALGA-UNDP COVID-19 RELIEF SUPPORT PROGRAMME
The South African Local Government Association in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites eligible Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) and the Informal Sector to apply for the Covid-19 relief support programme. This initiative aims to provide relief for SMMEs that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and is open to both formal and informal traders operating in Victor Khanye, Dr JS Moroka, Thembisile Hani, Nkomazi, City of Mbombela, Thaba Chweu, Dr Pixley ka Isaka Seme, Lekwa and Dipaleseng local municipalities. The focus of this partnership addresses the plight of SMMEs, Informal Traders, and workers in the informal sector as well as positioning the local government sector to appropriately poise itself to support and or respond to the needs of these sectors. Eligibility criteria, application details and the application form are available on the advertisement which has been shared on the SALGA social media pages (facebook and twitter), the website, as well as at the Local Economic Development office of the identified municipalities. Successful applicants will receive financial and non-financial support to help recover from the impacts of COVID-19. Applications close on the 31st of August 2020.
