Cities converge in Cape Town to converse about Water Security and Drought Management
The South African Local Government Association (SALGA) is facilitating a conversation amongst the eight Metros from 27- 28 March at the SALGA House, Western Cape Provincial Office. The dialogue is focusing on Water Security, Drought Management and Technological and Innovative solutions in mitigating current and future water challenges. Metros are recognised as engines of socio - economic growth in South Africa. They serve a population of approximately 22 Million which translate to about 39% of South Africans total population. The significance of Metro’s role in economic development and service delivery should not be underestimated. The purpose of the dialogue is to empower Metro’s response to the Sustainable Development Goals and boost key performance indicators reforms spearheaded by National Treasury.
