SALGA Limpopo Provincial Executive Officer (PEO) leads and manages the Limpopo Provincial Office of SALGA so that an effective service is provided within the SALGA mandate to local government in the province whilst their specific needs and requirements are understood and represented at a national level.

Limpopo is the natural resource treasure chest of South Africa. It boasts some of the greatest reserves of agriculture, mineral and tourism resources, many of which remain hugely underexploited. A unique feature of this province is that it shares borders with three countries namely Botswana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The province is also linked to Maputo Development Corridor through the Ba-Phalaborwa Spatial Development initiative, a network of road and rail corridors connecting to the major seaports set to open up Limpopo and the surrounding regions for trade and investment.
Limpopo’s energetic urban areas offer a strong contrast to the tranquillity of its vast park, farms, tourism and mining within the following towns Burgersfort, Lephalale, Mokopane, Musina, Phalaborwa, Polokwane, Thabazimbi, Thohoyandou and Tzaneen.

SALGA Limpopo office is situated at Polokwane, home to the capital of Limpopo, Capricorn District. Located on the Great North Road (N1 highway). Capricorn District is also the economic centre, with Polokwane contributing 13% of the provincial GDP. Polokwane is the province’s main centre of industry, commerce, education and medical services, and hosted matches during 2010 FIFA World Cup.
